Dachs Knives

Dachs Knives operates from the small Czech village of Jílovice, where the brothers produce their knives and swords themselves. Their work grew from years of self-taught experimentation, working from books, advice and plenty of trial and error. The result is a rather unusual combination of traditional bladesmithing and modern knife design. The Dachs name itself means "badger" in German, which also inspired the company's Tanuki branding, borrowing from the Japanese mythology of the badger-like creature. It's a fitting nod to the Japanese swordmaking influence behind their work.
