CHEMODEX Chemsil - Clear Silicon Lubricant Spray

CHEMODEX Chemsil Silicone Spray is a clear, non-staining lubricant designed for situations where traditional oils and greases either attract too much dirt, gum up over time, or simply aren’t the right tool for the job.
 
For airgun and airsoft use, silicone spray has always filled a fairly specific role: light lubrication, moisture protection, and reducing friction on moving external parts without leaving behind a thick oily mess.
 
Basically, it’s the “stop squeaking and move properly” spray.
 
Airgun & Airsoft Use
Chemsil is particularly useful for:
Light lubrication of cocking linkages and hinges
Wiping down external metal surfaces for moisture resistance
Protecting against light surface corrosion
Lubricating magazines and followers
Easing sticky folding stocks or adjustable butt systems
Lubricating sling swivels, catches, and external moving controls
Preventing moisture build-up during storage
 
Because it dries relatively cleanly and doesn’t gum up heavily, it’s useful where you want movement without creating a dirt magnet.
 
It can also help revive tired-looking synthetic stocks or plastic accessories with a light wiped-on finish, though maybe don’t coat the entire rifle like you’re seasoning cast iron.
 
Important Notes
Despite being a silicone lubricant, this is not suitable for silicone seals or silicone components.
That sounds backwards, but certain silicone sprays can actually damage, swell, or deteriorate silicone-based seals over time depending on formulation.
 
So:
Fine for external mechanisms and surfaces
Not recommended for internal regulator seals, valve seals, or silicone O-rings
Less “fill your regulator with it”, more “light workshop maintenance”.

A little goes a long way here. If the rifle looks freshly deep-fried afterwards, you’ve probably overcommitted.
