The 3 Legged Thing Reservoir Mod XL RSV2 is the largest moderator in the Reservoir Mod range, combining maximum sound suppression with the distinctive chamfered styling of the RSV2 series. Featuring the same angular, faceted appearance as the standard RSV2, the XL simply increases the internal volume and chamber count for shooters who want the quietest report possible.

Designed specifically for air rifles, the Reservoir Mod uses a carefully engineered multi-chamber system to control expanding air as it leaves the muzzle. Rather than relying solely on size, the internal design manages airflow efficiently, reducing muzzle report while maintaining the consistent shooting characteristics expected from a quality moderator.

Eight-Chamber Internal Design: The expanded eight-chamber construction provides greater airflow management than the standard model, helping to further reduce muzzle report on higher-powered PCP air rifles.

XL Internal Volume: With a generous 95ml internal volume, the XL version offers increased sound suppression for shooters where maximum noise reduction takes priority over overall rifle length.

1/2" UNF Thread: The industry standard 1/2" UNF thread makes the Reservoir Mod compatible with the vast majority of threaded PCP air rifles fitted with matching muzzle threads.

Precision Manufactured: Designed and manufactured by 3 Legged Thing, every Reservoir Mod is engineered specifically for airgun use, offering reliable performance without unnecessary weight.

Chamfered RSV2 Styling: The bold faceted body gives the RSV2 a modern, technical appearance while sharing the same high-quality internal construction found throughout the Reservoir Mod range.

Important Information

The XL Reservoir Mods are designed for shooters who prioritise maximum sound suppression. The increased internal volume naturally results in a longer moderator than the standard models, so if maintaining a compact rifle is more important than achieving the quietest possible report, the standard Reservoir Mod may be the better choice.

These moderators are designed exclusively for use with airguns and are not intended for use on firearms.

Who is the Reservoir Mod XL RSV2 for?

The XL RSV2 is ideal for shooters looking to achieve the greatest possible reduction in muzzle report from their PCP air rifle. Its larger internal volume makes it particularly well suited to pest control, hunting and range shooting where keeping noise to a minimum is the priority. If you don't mind the extra length in exchange for increased suppression, the XL is the natural choice within the Reservoir Mod range.

Effective Compliance with the Violent Crime Reduction Act 2006 (VCRA): Sections 31 and 32

Under the provisions of Sections 31 and 32 of the Violent Crime Reduction Act 2006, which were enacted through "The Violent Crime Reduction Act 2006 (Commencement No 3) Order 2007: firearms measures," specific regulations now apply to air weapons, their Pressure-Bearing component parts, and certain accessories.

Key Points to Note:

Restricted Items:

Airguns: All airguns are classified as restricted items.

Pressure-Bearing Parts of Airguns: This includes barrels, cylinders, reservoirs, and pistons.

Functional Moderators (Silencers/Suppressors): Moderators that reduce the sound of discharge are also classified as restricted items.

Definition and Registration:

Component Parts: While the VCRA does not explicitly define "component parts," the Home Office interprets this to include pressure-bearing parts such as barrels, cylinders, reservoirs, and pistons.

Accessories: Only moderators (silencers) require registration by dealers.

Legal Requirements for Transfer:

In-Person Transfer: It is an offence under the VCRA to transfer these restricted items through standard postal systems or to the end customer directly without the presence of both the buyer and either the seller or a representative of the seller.

Representatives of the Seller: This can be:

Another RFD authorized by the seller.

An employee of the authorized RFD.

Collection and Delivery Options:

Collection from Store: Customers are encouraged to collect their restricted items directly from the store where purchased.

Transfer to Another RFD: Items can be transferred to a local RFD for collection, though the receiving RFD may charge a fee for this service.

Home Delivery: We offer home delivery through our in-house team to some areas of the UK. However, please note that this service has location restrictions and incurs higher costs due to the need for dedicated transport, making it more expensive than a standard RFD transfer.
