APOLLO G-Rest Heavyweight Shooting Sledge with Adjustable U-Shaped Yoke

The APOLLO G-Rest is a heavyweight shooting sledge designed primarily for testing, zeroing and managing rifles with significant recoil, while also doubling as a highly stable shooting rest for near hands-off shooting.
 
At around 6kg, the G-Rest has enough mass to resist movement when used with larger calibre and higher-recoiling guns. Add weight to the adjustable tray when you need even more stability, or remove the sliding section entirely when using an airgun and you want a lighter, more compact setup.
 
It is also useful for shooters who struggle with dexterity, tremors, or simply holding a rifle steadily for extended periods. Rather than trying to support the rifle entirely by hand, the G-Rest provides a stable platform while still allowing the rifle to be adjusted for elevation and pitch.
 
Built for Recoil
The G-Rest is designed as a recoil arrester for use when testing and zeroing higher-recoiling rifles.
Its heavyweight construction provides a solid base, while the adjustable weight tray allows additional weight bags to be positioned underneath the rifle. The tray can be extended for larger bags or reduced for smaller setups.
 
For airgun use, the sliding section of the tray can also be removed. This reduces the overall bulk and weight of the setup while improving ergonomics for lighter-recoiling rifles.
 
Important: When using a powder-burning firearm, the barrel should not be rested directly onto the front yoke. The front support is designed to support the rifle's stock/forestock rather than act as a barrel rest.
 
Adjustable U-Shaped Front Yoke
The front U-shaped saddle provides a secure but slightly forgiving contact point for the rifle's forestock.
 
The saddle uses a 20% infill truss construction with an anti-scratch surface, providing a supportive structure without creating a completely rigid contact point against a wooden stock.
 
The U-shaped design accommodates forestocks up to 45mm wide.
 
Rear Support and Recoil Cushioning
At the rear, a soft anti-slip grip supports the buttstock while helping absorb some of the movement generated during recoil.
 
The rear support works together with the two large front feet and adjustable rear monopod to create a triangular support pattern. This helps maintain stability even when the shooting surface isn't perfectly level.
 
The rear support also allows the pitch of the rifle to be adjusted in combination with the front support.
 
Significant Elevation Adjustment
The front support provides 50mm of height adjustment. Combined with the adjustable rear monopod, this allows the rifle's vertical pitch to be changed through approximately 12° of elevation.
 
That gives the G-Rest a substantial amount of built-in adjustment for moving between different shooting distances, from mid-range zeroing through to longer-range setups, without having to completely reposition the sledge.
 
The available adjustment equates to more than 200 MRAD of angular adjustment.
 
Adjustable Weight Tray
The extendable weight tray is designed to accept soft weight bags measuring up to approximately 340 × 320 × 60mm.
 
The tray can be shortened for smaller bags or extended when additional weight is required for higher-calibre and higher-recoiling rifles.
 
For airgun users, the sliding extension can be removed completely, creating a lighter and less cumbersome shooting rest.
 
Designed Around Different Rifle Sizes
The G-Rest is designed to support rifles with a minimum contact length of approximately 600mm.
The rear buttstock support accommodates stocks up to 55mm wide, while the front U-shaped yoke can accommodate forestocks up to 45mm wide.
 
This makes it suitable for a broad range of rifle configurations, although the individual stock shape and contact points should always be considered before use.

The APOLLO G-Rest is essentially a shooting bench you can take with you. It is deliberately heavy because that weight is part of the point: for recoil-heavy rifles, the last thing you want is a lightweight rest trying to follow the rifle downrange. For airguns, the removable tray section gives you the option of stripping some of that bulk away and keeping the setup more manageable.
