June Staff Picks: Chaos, Compressors & Customisation

June has been... hectic.
Luke became a dad 🎉 (So he has been on paternity leave), we were made Nottinghamshire's exclusive retailer for the relaunched Theoben brand, we’ve been viewing potential new properties to expand into (🤞), and we’re currently trialling a local delivery option for airguns and VCRA-restricted items. Basically—it's been non-stop.
But out of the chaos, comes clarity… or at least, a handful of things we’re really into this month. Some are fresh. Some are old favourites. All of them deserve a proper look.
Rokstad ARCA & Picatinny Ball Head (RSRH-02)
Karl was all set to recommend a Vaide combo light/laser—but then this little gem arrived. If you’re running a tripod for shooting (or even for photography), this Rokstad Ball Head opens up a whole new world of mounting options. Not only does it support ARCA rails, but it also includes a female Picatinny mount—something you won’t find on your average SIRUI or Manfrotto. Most modern rifles now have a Picatinny underside, so you can mount directly without faffing about with clamps or conversion plates.
Don’t have a tripod? Go for the full ball head + tripod combo here. Already sorted on the legs? Just grab the ball head on its own and enjoy top-tier adjustability.
BSA Portable 300BAR PCP Compressor
Craig’s owned this compressor for years now, and to quote him directly: “If you looks after it, it just works” The BSA unit has become a bit of a staple at Vector Air. It’s reliable, compact, and unlike the sketchy eBay imports, it comes with a 12-month UK warranty. While it won’t fill a 7L dive bottle, it will handle any airgun or airsoft tank under 1000cc like a champ.
Just make sure you get the Dry Pac upgrade if you’re filling steel cylinders. Moisture is the silent killer of HPA systems.
Stoeger XM1 Combo Kit
Let’s face it—not everyone wants to drop £1K on a rifle. Enter the Stoeger XM1. It’s not flashy, it’s not collectible—but it shoots straight, includes a basic scope, a decent silencer, and comes with mags and a single-shot tray. In short, it’s perfect for:
New shooters
Those moving up from a clunky old springer
Anyone who’s over 60 and just can’t cock the damn break barrel anymore
It’s been one of our best-selling bundles this summer, usually paired with a pump, a gun bag, and a few pellets. It’s not trying to be a classic—it’s trying to be useful. And it is.
Vector Optics Paragon 1x18 X-Micro Prismatic Sight
Luke’s pick is unsurprisingly tactical—he’s now both a dad and the resident airsoft guy, so he’s doubling down on practicality. The X-Micro is a compact, refined update of the classic Paragon sight. It’s prismatic (so no parallax issues), features etched reticles in both red and green, and as it's a reticle instead of a dot, the optic works just fine even if the battery dies.
Pair it with the matching Paragon flip-to-side magnifier, and you’ve got a loadout straight out of a Tier 1 operator’s dream. A quick button press takes you from precision to rapid CQB. It’s already a favourite for the worlds Special Forces, airsofters, and now it’s getting adopted by pest controllers who need something lightweight, fast, and effective.
We’re pretty sure Luke’s already taken one home. No paperwork. No regrets.
Oh, and before you say, yes, the picture is of Karl... Not Luke
That’s It for June
As always, our picks aren’t sponsored, paid for, or pre-decided. If it’s here, it’s because we actually use it—or argue over who gets to use it first.
See something you like? Grab it before it ends up in a Staff Member’s personal stash.
