BSA Buccaneer Pro Side Lever Wood Air Rifle
Not the old Buccaneer re-run — this is a redesign from BSA: a budget-friendly, made-in-the-UK side-lever that packs a lot of modern kit into a sensible price.
The Buccaneer Pro takes the familiar BSA quality and strips out the nonsense so you get a practical, no-drama shooter for everyday use.
Key bits to love: a new regulator for stable shot-to-shot consistency, BSA’s hammer-forged (CHF) barrel for accuracy, and a tried-and-trusted 10-shot self-indexing magazine system that keeps follow-up shots clean and predictable. BSA has ditched the old dovetail and fitted a Picatinny rail — modern scopes fit straight on with sensible rings, no wrestling required.
The action is a side lever — fast to cock and tidy for field use — and the rifle benefits from BSA’s new hammer system with the ‘Blast Tamer’ to tame recoil impulses and squeeze the best shot count and comfort from every fill.
Trigger-wise you get a new two-stage adjustable unit so you can tune the feel for target work or pest control. The stock is beech (away from Minelli) with a modified Scorpion tactical shape — a nod toward ergonomics and practical handling rather than carrying excess bling. All of this gives you the feel and function of a regulated BSA PCP without the wallet sting.
Best use scenario: this is your go-to for backyard pest control, casual target practice, plinking, and club-range duty where you want regulated, repeatable performance on a budget. It’s aimed at shooters who want a genuine BSA build (Made in the UK) and modern features — Picatinny rail, adjustable trigger, regulated shot consistency — but don’t need a top-end, full-price tactical rig.
If you want reliability and sensible upgrades over older budget models, the Buccaneer Pro is the sensible pick.
