Walther Rotex RM8 Synthetic UC Regulated Bolt Action PCP Air Rifle by UMAREX
The Walther Rotex RM8 has long been regarded as one of the most accurate sporting PCP air rifles in its class, combining a genuine Lothar Walther barrel with a robust rotary magazine system and regulated air supply. The UC (Ultra Compact) takes that proven formula and packages it into a handier rifle that's easier to carry, quicker to shoulder and far better suited to tighter environments without sacrificing the accuracy the RM8 is known for.
Like every RM8, the UC uses a true rotary magazine rather than a spring-indexing design. As the bolt is cycled, the rifle rotates the magazine into position before the pellet is chambered. This allows each pellet to be loaded cleanly and straight into the breech, reducing the chance of pellet deformation and helping maintain the superb consistency that has made the RM8 such a favourite with target shooters.
German Lothar Walther Barrel: Although shorter at 340mm, the genuine Lothar Walther 12-groove choked barrel still delivers the outstanding accuracy expected from the RM8 platform. The reduced length makes the rifle more compact without compromising the quality of the barrel itself.
Regulated Performance: The regulated 200cc air cylinder performs best between 200 and 100 BAR, producing excellent shot-to-shot consistency while also offering an impressive usable shot count from each fill. The regulator helps maintain stable velocities throughout the working pressure range, making the rifle equally comfortable on the range or in the field.
Rotary Magazine System: The proven 8-shot rotary magazine remains one of the RM8's standout features. Rather than relying on spring pressure to rotate while loading, the bolt action indexes the magazine first, allowing pellets to enter the breech smoothly and consistently.
Compact Synthetic Thumbhole Stock: The synthetic thumbhole stock offers excellent durability for hard field use while providing a comfortable, relaxed wrist position during extended shooting sessions. Combined with the shorter barrel, it creates a rifle that feels noticeably quicker and more manoeuvrable than the full-length models.
Factory Moderator Included: Unlike the standard RM8 variants, the UC includes a factory-fitted moderator as part of the package. Combined with the shorter overall length, it keeps muzzle report down while still maintaining a compact profile, making it particularly well suited to pest control around barns, farm buildings and other noise-sensitive locations.
Integrated Picatinny Accessory Rail: A Picatinny rail beneath the forend allows the easy addition of bipods, torches and other shooting accessories without requiring aftermarket adaptors.

Who is the RM8 UC for?
The RM8 UC is the most practical member of the family for shooters who spend their time in tighter spaces. Its shorter overall length makes it easier to handle in barns, around vehicles and when shooting HFT courses where manoeuvrability matters. It also makes an excellent farm or cab rifle while still retaining the accuracy, consistency and refined shooting characteristics that have made the RM8 platform so well respected. If you want RM8 performance in a package that's easier to live with day to day, the UC is arguably the pick of the range.
Important Notice for the Purchase and Delivery of Airguns, Pressure Components of Airguns, and Moderators
Effective Compliance with the Violent Crime Reduction Act 2006 (VCRA): Sections 31 and 32
Under the provisions of Sections 31 and 32 of the Violent Crime Reduction Act 2006, which were enacted through "The Violent Crime Reduction Act 2006 (Commencement No 3) Order 2007: firearms measures," specific regulations now apply to air weapons, their Pressure-Bearing component parts, and certain accessories.
Key Points to Note:
Restricted Items:
- Airguns: All airguns are classified as restricted items.
- Pressure-Bearing Parts of Airguns: This includes barrels, cylinders, reservoirs, and pistons.
- Functional Moderators (Silencers/Suppressors): Moderators that reduce the sound of discharge are also classified as restricted items.
Definition and Registration:
- Component Parts: While the VCRA does not explicitly define "component parts," the Home Office interprets this to include pressure-bearing parts such as barrels, cylinders, reservoirs, and pistons.
- Accessories: Only moderators (silencers) require registration by dealers.
Legal Requirements for Transfer:
- In-Person Transfer: It is an offence under the VCRA to transfer these restricted items through standard postal systems or to the end customer directly without the presence of both the buyer and either the seller or a representative of the seller.
- Representatives of the Seller: This can be:
- An employee of the seller who is a registered firearms dealer (RFD).
- Another RFD authorized by the seller.
- An employee of the authorized RFD.
Collection and Delivery Options:
- Collection from Store: Customers are encouraged to collect their restricted items directly from the store where purchased.
- Transfer to Another RFD: Items can be transferred to a local RFD for collection, though the receiving RFD may charge a fee for this service.
- Home Delivery: We offer home delivery through our in-house team to some areas of the UK. However, please note that this service has location restrictions and incurs higher costs due to the need for dedicated transport, making it more expensive than a standard RFD transfer.
