Pixfra Cetus C225 Thermal Weapon Sight / Thermal Spotter
The Pixfra Cetus C225 is a compact, lightweight thermal sight designed for use as a mounted thermal weapon sight or as a handheld thermal spotter. Supplied with an offset Picatinny mount, it offers a flexible setup for shooters who want thermal capability without carrying a large, cumbersome optic.
At the heart of the C225 is a 256×192, 12µm thermal sensor with <18mK NETD sensitivity, providing detailed heat detection in darkness and challenging weather conditions. Pixfra's PIPS 3.0 image processing further enhances image clarity, particularly when using digital zoom.
The compact magnesium-alloy housing keeps weight to just 520g, while an IP67 rating and 1,000G shock resistance make the Cetus suitable for demanding outdoor use.
Compact Thermal Performance
The C225 combines a 25mm f/1.0 objective lens with a 3.5x base magnification and digital zoom up to 28x. Manual focus allows the image to be adjusted for different distances, with a close focus distance of 2m and a claimed detection range of up to 1,300m.
The 800×600 OLED display provides a clear viewing image, while six colour palettes give you options for different conditions and preferences.
Easy Operation & Zeroing
A minimalist control layout uses a combined rotary wheel and button arrangement for straightforward menu navigation. The C225 supports five customisable zeroing profiles, with zeroing also available through the Pixfra app.
The built-in Picture-in-Picture display, multiple reticle patterns and colours, automatic/manual/semi-auto FFC calibration and defective pixel correction provide plenty of configuration options without making the unit unnecessarily complicated.
Recoil-Activated Recording
The built-in Recoil Activated Recording (RAR) system automatically records footage around a shot, capturing 15 seconds before and 15 seconds after activation, including audio. Images and videos can be viewed through the local gallery or transferred using the Wi-Fi hotspot and app.
Replaceable Battery
The Cetus uses a replaceable 18650 lithium battery, with two batteries included. The quick-release battery cover makes changing batteries straightforward in the field, while USB-C provides convenient power and charging connectivity.
Battery runtime is up to approximately 5 hours, depending on temperature and whether Wi-Fi is being used.
Built for the Field
The full magnesium-alloy construction provides a robust but lightweight housing, with IP67 protection against dust and water. The C225 is rated to withstand up to 1,000G / 0.4ms of recoil, making it suitable for use on higher-recoil platforms.
