Reximex Lieva Under-Leaver PCP Air Rifle
Possibly the most controversial-looking PCP you can buy without trying too hard. The Lieva is, for all intents and purposes, a very budget-friendly take on the Spanish-made LOBO Mustang. The key difference is price, country of origin, and a few design decisions that will either charm you or make you quietly question everything.
Built by Reximex in Türkiye, the Lieva pairs their typically decent walnut furniture with a simple, affordable, but perfectly workable PCP action. Unlike the Lyra and Pretensis, this is an under-lever rifle, which immediately pushes you toward standing shots. Cocking it off a rest is awkward at best, clearly not what it was designed for. Instead, it leans heavily into offhand shooting using the included open sights, which suits the western-style rifle aesthetic it is very obviously going for.
So why the controversy? Because the rifle is effectively upside down.
To make the layout work, Reximex has followed the same approach as the LOBO Mustang. The air tube sits above the barrel, and the magazine feeds upside down from the underside of the action. Mechanically, it works. Visually, it definitely raises eyebrows. This layout also means the scope-over-bore height is quite high, so if you are planning to fit optics, keep expectations realistic. Adding a silencer to make it more back-garden friendly is possible, but be aware it extends below the barrel line and makes the whole thing look even more unconventional.
Accuracy is serviceable, but expectations should be sensible. This is a magazine-fed-only rifle with no single-shot option, and it is clearly built to a price. If you are chasing tiny groups, this probably is not your next obsession.
However, if you are a collector on a tight budget and want a western-inspired rifle that is not CO2, not a replica, and not pretending to be something else, this is genuinely your only option. It is odd, unapologetic, and very niche. Which is kind of the point.
