The Gerber Fastball is a compact American-made folding knife that combines a distinctive cleaver-style blade with lightweight aluminium construction and a genuinely smooth opening action.
 
Built around a CPM 20CV stainless steel blade, the Fastball offers an excellent balance of edge retention, corrosion resistance and durability. The cleaver profile gives it a broad, practical cutting edge while keeping the overall knife compact enough for everyday carry.
 
Fast, Smooth Deployment
The Fastball uses a ball-bearing pivot to provide smooth blade movement, combined with a precision detent that gives the knife its characteristic fast, positive "lightswitch" deployment.
There is no assisted or automatic opening mechanism. Instead, the action comes from the mechanical design of the knife, making it a particularly slick manual-opening folder.
A liner lock secures the blade when open, with an easy-access liner lock release for straightforward closing.

The 20CV stainless steel blade is one of the highlights of the Fastball. It is a premium powder metallurgy steel known for its strong combination of edge retention, corrosion resistance and toughness.
