If you’re looking for a properly affordable thermal spotter, the Pixfra Mile 2 M207 is hard to ignore. It packs a 256×192 thermal sensor into a genuinely compact 270g body, giving you thermal detection without needing to carry what feels like a small telescope around with you.
 
The M207 uses a 7mm f1.0 objective lens to produce an exceptionally wide 24° field of view, making it particularly useful for scanning fields, woodland, pest control, conservation and general observation. It is not trying to be a £2,000 thermal monocular. Instead, it delivers a very usable thermal image and a surprisingly capable feature set at a much more approachable price.
 
Compact Thermal Performance
At the heart of the Mile 2 M207 is a 256×192, 12μm thermal sensor with a NETD of less than 35mK. Combined with the 7mm f1.0 lens, it provides a detection range of up to 350m while maintaining a very wide field of view.
 
The 800×600, 0.32-inch OLED display provides a clear image for identifying and observing heat sources, with six selectable colour palettes to suit different conditions and preferences.
 
Wide 24° Field of View
The 7mm f1.0 objective lens gives the M207 a 24° horizontal field of view, making it particularly well suited to scanning larger areas.
 
Rather than constantly panning around to cover a field or woodland edge, the wide FOV allows you to monitor a much larger area at once. This makes the M207 a useful option for general thermal observation, surveying, conservation and pest control.
 
Small Enough to Actually Carry
The Mile 2 M207 weighs just 270g, making it exceptionally easy to carry in a pocket, rifle bag or backpack.
 
Its slimline design keeps controls simple, with the power button integrated into the side of the housing and the main controls positioned for straightforward operation.
 
For extended observation sessions, the compact size also makes it considerably less tiring to hold than larger thermal monoculars.
 
Built for the Outdoors
With an IP67 protection rating, the M207 is protected against dust and water ingress and is designed for use in demanding outdoor conditions.
 
It operates from -30°C to +55°C and can handle humidity levels of up to 95%, so a bit of British weather should not immediately send it into retirement.
 
Up to 9.5 Hours Battery Life
The built-in rechargeable lithium battery provides up to 9.5 hours of operation at 25°C, depending on usage and environmental conditions.
 
The M207 charges via USB Type-C, making it convenient to recharge from a suitable USB power source when away from home.
 
Built-In Recording & Wi-Fi
The M207 includes built-in video recording and still image capture, with footage stored on the internal 16GB memory.
 
The integrated Wi-Fi hotspot allows the monocular to connect to smartphones and tablets through the Pixfra app. Up to four smart devices can be connected, with a wireless range of up to approximately 40m.
 
This makes the M207 particularly useful when more than one person needs to view the thermal image.
